Description Brass Barbell Eyes from Hareline are manufactured from solid brass and plated to Black Nickel, Nickel, or Gold. Nontoxic and perfectly balanced for a centered fitting. Some tyers choose not to use lead wire or lead dumbbell eyes and these were developed to fill that need. These eyes are stout, smooth, shiny, available in four sizes from X-small (2.4mm) to Large(4.8mm). A black eye can be painted on the ends and epoxied for accent. Brass Barbell Eyes offer an additional advantage over lead barbells also. They will not bend or break when being chomped on by giant fly-eating fish. Brass barbell eyes also offer the advantage over chrome plated lead barbell fly tying eyes because there is no plating to chip off. The Brass stay nice and shiny, as do the nickel and black nickel finish. These offer greater durability, greater sparkle, and lead-free alternative to lead dumbbells, at a slight price increase.
