Description The Rite Ceramic Standard Bobbin was designed and manufactured by Mr. Bill Merg, a master fly tier and Mechanical Engineer in 1991 out of Sunnyvale, CA. It is currently made in Nye, Montana by Lyle Graff. The “Standard” is 1″ longer than the Shorty to meet the needs of most fly tiers. It has a ceramic thread tube and a removable Vinyl Grip. The arm is solid brass with a “click” drag adjustment creating 1-9 oz. of thread tension. Considered one of the most versatile of all fly tying bobbins.
