Description Hareline has really moved into the hackle market once Keough Hackles bought the company. They are marketing Hareline Hen Saddles at a very affordable price. Similar to the Hen Necks, these hackles are soft and webby but are more rounded at the tip and wider. They are used for feather-winged dry flies, soft hackle wets, and streamers. Hen Saddles tend to be softer and longer than Hen Necks with less sizes to choose from. The longer fibers are useful for tails and legs on nymphs, streamer collars, and small matukas. In comparison to Indian Hen Backs, the Hareline Hen Saddles tend to have smaller hackles, less mottling, and a wider range of sizes.
