This particular painting show large turquoise waves breaking out at sea. The sky is a cerulean blue with wispy clouds. The light coming through the cresting wave is a combination of turquoise and Phthalo blue. The deep shadow of the wave is a mixture of viridian green, indigo blue and deep turquoise. The foreground shows a sea foam coming up and under the wave Medium For my work I like to use oil paint. This medium is very versatile allowing you to add thick impasto layers or more fluid translucent ones. As a result this medium is very useful when you want to capture ocean waves in all their forms and variety of colours. Also it is such robust a medium I can scrape the paint back or scratch into it too for added texture. Background I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art in 2008 at the University of Plymouth. My exhibitions have been throughout Devon and one of my films was been exhibited at the South Bank, London and in Italy. I am a Brixham based artist.
